Tom Carlin was a member of the men's soccer team and then came back to coach his alma mater. Carlin was three-year team captain for the Knights and was named to the All-PAC First-Team three times. Carlin then became the head coach at Arcadia in 2000 and led the Knights to three PAC Titles, a Sweet 16 appearance in 2001 and an Elite Eight appearance in 2002. Following his time at Arcadia, he went on to be an assistant coach at Northwestern and then joined the Villanova staff in 2007. In 2008, he was named the head coach at Villanova. He led the Wildcats to four straight Big East Tournament appearances and to the program's first-ever postseason wins, defeating Notre Dame and USF in the 2011 Big East Championships. Overall, Carlin has over 140 wins as a head coach at Arcadia and Villanova.
