Tom Matthews played basketball for four years, scoring 1,172 points, and was instrumental in starting the men's baseball team during his senior year. He set a basketball record with 19 assists in a game. Tom received Second Team All Keystone Athletic Conference honors as a freshman, and for two weeks led the country in free throws with a 93.9 percentage. Tom served as captain in basketball and baseball, and as a star pitcher for the earliest baseball team, he helped establish the roots of our program with little in the way of institutional resources.
