Samantha Carpenter swept the breaststroke events at the 2016 MAC Swimming Championships, winning the gold medal with a time of 1:06.80 in the 100 breaststroke and a program-record setting time of 2:26.37 in the 200 breaststroke. She broke her own school record in the 100 breaststroke during prelims, and was a member of four school record setting relay teams. Carpenter totaled six All-MAC performances in her MAC Championships debut.
