Parent/Guardian Resources

Arcadia Athletics is committed to providing student-athletes a quality experience and assisting them in being successful academically and athletically. Parents and guardians play an important role in a student-athlete's experience at Arcadia. To that end, we are providing the following information to serve as a resource for parents and guardians of current Arcadia student-athletes.

Parents and guardians of prospective student-athletes are encouraged to direct all communications to the respective sport head coach or Enrollment Management throughout the recruitment process.

For additional questions, please contact Yerami Jimenez, the Assistant to the Director of Athletics, by phone at 215-572-2955 or email jimenezy@arcadia.edu.

Academic Calendar Academic Eligibility
  • Full-time enrollment – Undergraduate student-athletes must be enrolled full-time and taking a minimum of 12 credits. Exceptions exist in the case of an education-impacting disability or for those students in their final semester who are taking the required courses to graduate. Graduate student-athletes need to be enrolled full-time in order to be eligible. A student-athlete who drops or withdraws from a class must notify their head coach prior to doing so.
  • Satisfactory progress – Determined by the academic officials at the university. This may involve progress toward graduation, number of dropped/withdrawn courses, GPA within major, and other institutional standards. In addition to GPA, students will be reviewed by the Academic Standing Committee if they have an excessive number of course withdrawals and/or failures for two consecutive semesters. Excessive number of course withdrawals is defined as 50 percent or greater of the student's course load.
  • Good academic standing – The NCAA does not dictate GPA requirements. This is done by each school. Academic eligibility is checked after each semester. Student-athletes placed on Academic Notice are not eligible to participate in athletics during their semester on notice. The required GPA to remain in good academic standing is based on the number of credits a student has completed (including credits transferred into Arcadia)
  • 1-32 credits completed: Must maintain above a 1.75 cumulative and semester GPA
  • 33-60 credits completed: Must maintain above a 1.89 cumulative GPA
  • 60+ credits completed: Must maintain above a 2.00 cumulative GPA

  • There are no complimentary tickets to any postseason game (MAC or NCAA).
  • When attending events on other campuses, parents and guardians are to abide by that school's game admission and/or parking fees.
