Men's Basketball senior forward Colin McCarthy (Langhorne, PA/Holy Ghost) was named Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 3, 2011.  This is the second-straight Knight of the Week honor for the co-captain. 

A McCarthy buzzer-beating three gave the Knights momentum at the half in their home opener against E'town and after the Blue Jays mounted a comeback, a three-point play in the paint from the senior with 1:16 to play in the game fueled Arcadia in their 8 pt. win on the opening night of Commonwealth play.  Against LVC on the road on Saturday, McCarthy hit on his only 3pt attempt of the game and went 2-2 at the line providing a valuable 28 minutes with 9 points and 5 rebounds for the Knights as they knocked off the Dutchmen to go up 2-0 in the league standings, the best start to their Commonwealth schedule since joining the league in the 2008-09 season. 

McCarthy averaged 13.5 ppg (12.2 ppg on the season) and shot 75% from long-range and 90.9% from the free throw line in a 2-0 week for Arcadia who improves to 3-2 overall.
