First year Whitney Boeckel (York, PA/Spring Grove) powered her way through the water to three individual first place victories in the Knight’s loss to conference foe Lycoming at home on Saturday.  Boeckel won the 200 Freestyle (2:06.34) and 200 Backstroke (2:15.41), each time finishing one second ahead of Lycoming's Beth Ann Schwoyer.  Boeckel also took top honors in the 500 Freestyle (5:37.36). 

According to head coach Ryan Weathers, “Whitney exemplifies the meaning of student athlete by remaining consistently strong in her work ethic in the classroom and the pool.  She is very diligent at juggling our hectic training schedule with the demands of her academic schedule.”  Whitney currently holds multiple school records in the 1000 free (11:37.60), 200 backstroke (2:15.85), 100 backstroke (1:03.62) and is knocking on the door in the 200 and 500 freestyles.  All of this in her first year which sets the table for an exciting future here at Arcadia.
