Hyden coached Zoe Foglia Alex Colton, Ishan Kulkarni and Wesley Wei to All-MAC Commonwealth selections in 2015-16. He also guided Kulkarni to a 2016 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year selection. In his first year, Hyden helped Colton and Viola Sawyer to all-conference selections in the MAC Freedom.

Hyden led Arcadia’s men’s team a program record 11 wins in 2015-16, guiding the Knights to their first-ever MAC Commonwealth Championship finals appearance and Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship Tournament appearance.

Hyden came to Arcadia after serving as assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at the University of Mount Union for three seasons. The women’s program went 40-16, advanced to the Ohio Athletic Conference semifinals in each of his three seasons and totaled 10 all-conference selections, while the men’s program was 38-20 and advanced to the OAC semifinals in 2013 and had four all-conference selections.

Hyden previously served as the head girl’s tennis coach at Boardman High School in 2009, which set the school record for wins and had one future NCAA Division I player, and boys junior varsity tennis coach at Austintown Fitch High School in 2007. He gained additional experience as an instructor at Boardman Tennis Center from 2013-14 and at the Towpath Tennis Center from 2007-09. Hyden was the Division II sectional tournament director of the Ohio High School State Tournament from 2003-14.

A 2006 Mount Union graduate with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Hyden was a four-year member of the men’s tennis team and served as team captain his senior year. He went on to earn his master’s degree in applied politics from The University of Akron in 2009 and earned a post baccalaureate certificate in paralegal studies from Kent State University in 2012.
