Erin Livingston is entering her 16th season as Head Field Hockey Coach at Arcadia University in 2024. She is the program’s sixth head coach in the NCAA Division III era of the program, and became the program's all-time wins leader on Oct. 12, 2019 with her 108th career win. Livingston owns a 144-137 overall record with a 51-48 mark in conference contests. Twice she has been named the MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year, most recently in 2014. She also holds additional responsibilities within Arcadia’s athletic department as the Associate Athletic Director, which includes the role of Senior Woman Administrator.
Under her tutelage, players have garnered a total of 47 All-Conference awards, including 2012 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year Jennie Kamel, and most recently the 2017 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year Lauren Dougherty. Additionally, Livingston has coached eight National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region selections, including Isabelle Houser, who was a second team pick in 2018, and Morgan McEntire and Morganne Dee, Second Team choices in 2023.
The field hockey team has also been recognized for its performance in the classroom, receiving the NFHCA Team Academic Award in each of Livingston’s first 15 seasons. A total of 196 student-athletes have been selected to the NFHCA National Academic Honor Roll, with a combined 27 NFHCA Scholar of Distinction awards and 11 MAC Academic All-Conference honorees.
Livingston has lead the Knights to the postseason 10 times, with an appearance in the conference final in 2018 after winning a program-best 16 games.
Livingston also served as Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Arcadia for five seasons from 2011-15. posting an overall record of 60-33 (.645), making her the all-time winningest coach in program history. The Knights captured the 2014 MAC Freedom regular season and tournament titles, as Arcadia won a school-record 18 games and made the program’s first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Livingston was named the MAC Freedom Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2014.
Prior to joining Arcadia, Livingston served as a graduate assistant for field hockey at Kean University. She helped guide the Cougars to a 36-18 overall mark, including a record-breaking 17-win season in 2008 that included winning the ECAC Mid-Atlantic title. Livingston also served as an assistant with Kean’s softball (2009) and women’s lacrosse (2006) programs. She served as the head softball coach at NCAA Division II Holy Family University in 2010, leading the Tigers to an overall record of 24-23 that included an 18-9 record in conference play, and served as assistant softball coach during 2005 campaign at Philadelphia University.
As an undergrad, she was a member of the field hockey and softball teams at NCAA Division II Kutztown University. A three-year starter on defense for the field hockey team, she holds the Golden Bears’ career record for defensive saves with 23 and was twice named a NFHCA All-American, earning First Team honors in 2004 after being named a Second Team selection in 2003. Livingston excelled off the field as well, garnering NFHCA All-Academic Squad laurels in 2003, and in 2005 being named Kutztown’s Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Livingston earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in coaching and mathematics from Kutztown in 2005 and earned her master’s degree in counseling from Kean in 2009.
