Warriors outpace Knights 3-0 in C'wealth play

WILLIAMSPORT, PA:  (Oct. 19, 2010) -  Arcadia University Volleyball traveled to Lycoming College Tuesday evening to take on the Warriors in Commonwealth Conference play, but lost in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-21).  The Knights contested the Warriors in each of the three sets but Lycoming used a .500 hitting performance by Tanya DeWalt and two other players hitting .375 and .294 to keep ahead of Arcadia on the scoreboard.

Arcadia remains in search of their first league win.  They will have a shot at that next Wednesday when the team hosts Widener University at 7 PM in Alumni Gym.  The win is the first in the league for Lycoming who improves to 12-11 overall (1-5 CC).  Arcadia drops to 7-14 / 0-6 CC).

Sophomore Delaney Dobson (Horsham, PA/Archbishop Wood) led the Knights' attack, hitting .364 with 5 kills.  First year Carlee Rossiter (Annapolis, MD/Broadneck), hit .286 and dished out a team high 19 assists, moving her within 2 of a 500-assist season.  Rossiter is 21 assists shy of breaking into the program's top five for Single Season Assists.  With 6 kills apeice, junior Hailey Barger (Sitka, AK/Sitka) and senior Natasha Wetten (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) added firepwer to the Knights attack while senior Christina DiMichele (Media, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) led the defensive effort with 13 digs.  Complementing DeWalt's performance for the Warriors, Shelby Gear and Megan Schulze added 9 and 8 kills respectively.
