Knights Fall at Elizabethtown in straight sets

Elizabethtown, PA:  (Sept. 21, 2010) -  Arcadia University fell to Elizabethtown this evening in their second Commonwealth conference game of the season, 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 12-25). While the Knights hung tough in the opening two sets the Blue Jays attack was just too tough to overcome.

Elizabethtown used a strong net attack to defeat Arcadia, converting on 41 of 98 kill attempts, compared to the Knights who were only able to convert on 26 of 101 attempts. Even without their strongest match at the net Arcadia hung tough against one of the perennial powers in the conference, forcing their opponent to play their best at critical points throughout the match.

Senior Natasha Wetten led the way for Arcadia with 6 kills and tied for the team-high with 11 digs. Sophomore Delaney Dobson was aggressive at the net with a team-high 8 kills, and three solo blocks. First-year Carlee Rossiter contributed 13 assists.

Arcadia returns to the hardwood this Thursday at Alumni Gymnasium on the campus of Arcadia University to face Rosemont College at 7 PM.
