Volk-Perez tricks Albright in Knight's league opener

Volk-Perez '14 nets hat trick to lead Knights to 4-1 win at Albright
READING, Pa.:  Sophomore Sara Volk-Perez (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) scored three goals to lead Arcadia University Women's Soccer to a convincing 4-1 win on the road at Albright College in Saturday's Commonwealth Conference opening game.  The win was the fifth straight for Arcadia who improves to 8-1-1 overall.

Volk-Perez now leads the team with 7 goals (14 pts.).  Junior Alex Davis (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) also scored for Arcadia while junior keeper Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains) made two saves in her shut-out performance.

Arcadia scored twice in the first half and held on for a 2-0 lead at the break.  At 17:40 Volk-Perez got her first off a pass from Alex Davis with Davis following in the 22nd minute, scoring unassisted for the Knight's 2-0 advantage.

At 43:31, Volk-Perez scored her second putting Arcadia ahead 3-0 before the Lions (4-2-2 overall) responded with one for the home team, a goal by Lauren Panichelle at 57:12.  Volk-Perez completed her hat trick at 63:30.

Shots were 12-8 in Arcadia's favor.

The Knights look to keep their hot streak in motion, hosting Rowan University this Monday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m.  in non-conference play.
