Women's Soccer earns National Ranking

Voted No. 24 in NSCAA National Poll - Week 5

GLENSIDE, Pa.:  Arcadia University Women's Soccer achieved their first national ranking today, voted No. 24 in the nation's top 25 NCAA Division III programs by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Having maintained their No. 3 ranking within the Mid-Atlantic region, the Knights have their sights set on their Commonwealth Conference rivals, Messiah College, ranked No. 1 nationally.  The two teams, both 1-0 in league play, face off this Saturday in Grantham, Pa.

Arcadia (8-2-1) was tagged with a tough 2-0 setback at home yesterday against Rowan University after reeling off five straight wins in September and a 8-1-1 record for the same month.

Looking ahead, the squad aspires to replicate their 6-1-1 record in road games this season, a place that will be familiar to them playing 5 of their final 7 regular season games as the visiting team.  The team plays at home next Saturday, Oct. 15 against Lycoming College.  The conference game will be played at 12 Noon as part of Homecoming/Family Weekend. The following weekend, Oct. 22, Elizabethtown visits Glenside in another league battle.

Of note, the team received more good news early this week with the naming of sophomore Sara Volk-Perez
(Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) as the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week.

Kick-off time for Saturday's game against the Falcons is 5 p.m.
