ALLENTOWN, Pa.:  Arcadia University Field Hockey secured its second victory of the season this afternoon, dispatching the Cedar Crest College Falcons, 10-1, on the road in non-league action.  Having only hit the two-goal mark twice this season, the Knights scored two and added a few more for good measure with scoring by Morgan Paese '15 (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) , Molly Goldstien '15 (Oak Ridge, PA/Jefferson Twp.), Melissa McNamee '12 (Philadelphia. PA/Little Flower), Marilyn Beatty '13 (Chalfont, PA/North Penn), Mindy Hair '15 Abington, PA/Bishop McDevitt) and Abigail Brockelbank '14 (Raymond, ME/Windham).

Beatty and Goldstien each finished with 4 pts. on the day on scoring and
assisting others.  For the second straight game, the opening five minutes featured a goal by Paese to provide the Knights an early advantage, this time, converting on a pass from Ashley Ditchey '14 (Nicholson, PA/Lackawana Trail) at 5:08.  Goldstien and Paese traded unassisted goals inside of the 18:00 minute mark putting Arcadia in front 3-0 and then Goldstien again, on a corner pass from Lauren Altera '13 (Califon, NJ/Voorhees) for a 4-0 Knights lead.  It would be the only corner the Knights would score on despite being provided 26 chances, yet Arcadia remained poised, eventually out-shooting the Falcons 42-1.

The visiting Knights (2-8, 0-1 CC) added two more scores to close the first half with a 6-0 advantage.  A pass from Beatty to McNamee at 23:20 was matched by Goldstien, earning one final pt. in the half on a successful dish to Hair, to cap the scoring.  Arcadia keeper Sarah Baumgardner '13 (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) exited the first half uncontested, with Jessica Mahoney '15 (N. Wildwood, NJ/Cape May Tech) entering for second half play.

Mahoney would finish with one goal against, coming in the 61st minute.  Cedar Crest's Rebecca Lowe scored off a pass from Heather Rice, but it was too late to turn around their 7 goal deficit.  Beatty scored her first in the 63rd minute and Brockelbank capped the scoring at 65:00 making it a 10-1 final.  Lindsay Iveson (Barnegat, NJ/Barnaget) assisted on the Brockelbank score.

Falynn Strohl made 9 stops on 3 goals against, splitting time with Lindsay Harrison who made 15 saves for Cedar Crest (0-6, 0-1 CSAC).

Arcadia looks to use this momentum, winning two of their last three, when they play at DeSales University on Wed., Sept. 28.  Game time is 4 p.m.
