Box Score Glenside, PA (October 20, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (10-3, 3-2) dropped their first home match of the season tonight, 4-3 to the Widener Pride (3-9, 1-3). The Knights had a 2-1 lead at the half, but Widener scored three times in the second half to take the match.
Jennie Kamel scored twice for the Knights, while
Lauren Altera scored one goal. The Knights return to action on Saturday at they host Elizabethtown at 1pm on Easton Field.
Kamel got the Knights on the board at the 13:36 mark she found the back of the net fighting through traffic in front of the net. Widener then tied the score on a penalty stroke at 21:38. Kamel then tallied her second goal at 32:32 off an assist from
Marilyn Beatty right in front of the net for 2-1 Arcadia lead. The Knights outshot Widener 9-4 in the first half and had nine penalty corners to Widener's three.
Widener immediately took the lead to start the second half on a penalty stroke. Arcadia came back and tied the score at 3-3 at the 50:12 mark as Altera scored off a penalty corner by
Katrina Dull. Just over a minute later the Pride took the lead for good. Arcadia finished with 16 shots to Widener's eight. The Knights had 17 penalty corners to the Pride's five.
