SWARTHMORE, PA (September 11, 2012) – The Arcadia University field hockey team dropped a close one to undefeated Swarthmore Garnet (5-0) 2-1 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Clotheir Field.

Arcadia (2-1) struck first with a blazing unassisted shot from freshman Jennie Kamel at 23:11 for her second tally of the year.  About eight minutes later, the Garnet knotted the score at one with a goal from Anne Rosenblatt to take a 1-1 score into halftime.

The Knights defense would prove solid once again as freshman Taylor Dalisera made two huge defensive saves for the Knights but at the 44:16 mark the Garnet's Sophia Agathis notched the game winning goal with a pass from teammate Aarti Rao.  Agathis's shot hit the top post and bounced into the left bottom corner for her second goal of the season.

In the cage, Arcadia split time between freshman Mia De Plato and senior Sarah Baumgardner.  DePlato made one save, while Baumgardner collected three saves in 23:52. Swarthmore keeper Gabby Capone made three saves on the day.
Arcadia will continue their non-conference play as they take on the Greyhounds of Moravian College this Thursday at 4 PM in Glenside.
