Box Score Glenside, PA (September 26, 2012): After a decisive win over Commonwealth foe Albright College on Saturday, the Arcadia field hockey team continued its win streak with a 5-0 win over DeSales University, Wednesday night on Easton Field. The win is the Knights fifth consecutive and gives the team an overall record of 7-1. DeSales drops to 3-4 following tonight's loss.
Like every previous game in the current win streak, the Knights found the back of the net first. Sophomore
Katrina Dull scored off a feed from senior Lynn Beatty with ten minutes left in the first half to give the Knights a lead they would not relinquish. This would be the only goal of the first half as the Knights went into the locker room hoping to hold their lead.
Freshman
Jennie Kamel added to her early-season flurry of scores with an unassisted goal ten minutes into the second half. Subsequent Arcadia goals were scored by Beatty, sophomore
Molly Goldstein, and freshman
Taylor Dalisera. Senior
Lauren Altera, Kamel, and junior
Ashley Ditchey added assists in the second half.
Freshman goalie
Mia De Plato started in net for the Knights. DePlato had two saves on the night, including one acrobatic save in the first half on a breakaway. For DeSales, senior Victoria DelToro finished with seven saves in the loss.
The Knights look to extend their win streak on Saturday as they will host the Mustangs of Stevenson University at 1 PM on Easton Field.
