Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team played visiting Stevenson University to a 0-0 tie in a match between two teams that are ranked in the top-five in the region Saturday afternoon at Easton Field.
The Knights are now 9-1-3 for the season, while the Mustangs record moved to 9-4-1 overall. Both teams are 2-0-1 in MAC Commonwealth contests this season. Arcadia entered the match ranked fifth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings, while Stevenson was ranked fifth.
Both teams accumulated 14 shots in the match. The Mustangs had a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Knights had as 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
Senior keeper
Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, N.J.) registered nine saves for Arcadia as her record moved to 7-1-3 for the season. Stevenson freshman keeper Annie McCoach (Cockeysville, Md.) had six saves as her record moved to 9-4-1.
Both teams struggled to generate quality scoring chances thanks to a pair of string defensive efforts. The Knights had arguably the best scoring chance in overtime when senior forward
Fatima Elmedkhar's (Middletown, Del.) shot to the lower left side was stopped by a diving McCoach midway through the first overtime.
Arcadia will return to action Tuesday night when it hosts a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth match against Elizabethtown College at Easton Field.
