Taylor Dalisera (Millersville, Md.) scored a pair of goals for the Knights, who improved to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Crusaders fell to 7-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Alvernia jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on sophomore midfielder Sara Gaolanti's (Red Bank, N.J.) fourth goal of the season 2:51 into the match, and the Crusaders kept the pressure on until Arcadia called a timeout five minutes later.
The Knights responded after that and tied the game on a penalty corner 13:54 into the match. Junior midfielder
Katrina Dull (Coopersburg, Pa.) sent the ball to Dalisera who wound up and blasted home a shot from the top of the circle for her seventh goal of the year. That combination connected again on a penalty corner 9:18 into the second half to give Arcadia the lead for good. It was Dalisera's eighth tally of the year.
Hannah Christensen buried her second goal of the season off a lead pass from junior midfielder
Morgan Paese (Harrisburg, Pa.) in the 54th-minute, and the proved to be the difference maker as sophomore forward Summer Liberto (Severna Park, Md.) deflected a pass from the right side of the circle into the cage for her sixth goal of the year in the 59th-minute.
Freshman goalkeeper
Brittany Hodson (Highesville, Md.) stopped eight shots for the Knights as she improved her record to 9-5 for the season. Junior goalkeeper Erin Wunsh (West Lawn, Pa.) fell to 3-3 after recording seven saves for the Crusaders.
Alverina held a 16-14 advantage in shots in the match, while both teams had 12 penalty corners.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it travels to Stevenson University for a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth match.
