Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa . – The Arcadia University men's soccer team was called for a foul in the box midway through the first overtime period and visiting Lycoming College converted the penalty kick that followed as it recorded a 2-1 MAC Commonwealth win over the Knights Saturday afternoon at Easton Field.
 
The Warriors improved to 8-6-2 overall and 3-3-1 in MAC Commonwealth contests, while the Knights fell to 6-9-2 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play.
 
The ball was played into the Arcadia box and as players from both team battled for control the Knights were called for a foul, giving Lycoming a golden opportunity to end the match. Freshman Bill Kerr (Bowie, Md.) then converted the penalty kick by placing the ball into the left side of the goal 5:19 into the frame.
 
The match was scoreless until the 78th-minute when freshman Dom Hayes (Pocono Summit, Pa.) ripped a shot off a turnover into the upper right corner of the goal, unassisted, to give Lycoming a 1-0 lead. Arcadia answered just three minutes later when junior 
Joseph Bertucci (Great Valley, N.J.) headed the ball into the left side of the goal off a free kick for his team-leading sixth tally of the season.
 
The Warriors appeared to take a 1-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game, but the play was called offside and the goal was disallowed.
 
Arcadia played the final 38:02 a man down after 
Dean Search received his second yellow card of the game, and in spite of the Knights being shorthanded they had several opportunities to win the match in regulation and in overtime.
 
Junior Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa.) recorded seven saves to improve to 8-6-2 for Lycoming, while senior 
Ryan Lantzy (Phoenixville, Pa.) fell to 6-7-2 after making five stops for Arcadia.
 
The Knights outshot Lycoming 14-10 in the match with an 8-3 advantage in the second half. Both teams had three corner kicks.
 
Arcadia will next travel to third-ranked Messiah College Wednesday for a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth match.
