Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to record a 2-1 non-conference victory over Swarthmore College Thursday night at Easton Field.
The Knights finished the regular season with a record of 14-5, and will return to action Wednesday when third-seeded Arcadia travels to second-seeded and 13th-ranked Messiah College for a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament Semifinal match. The Garnet fell to 2-15 with the loss.
The Knights got off to a slow start in the match and trailed 1-0 at the half after senior midfielder Aarti Rao (Chatsworth, Calif.) put a shot on cage that deflected off freshman goalkeeper
Brittany Hodson (Highesville, Md.) on its way in.
Arcadia came out strong to start the second half and tied the game just 1:41 into the frame when sophomore midfielder
Isabel Farfan (Princeton Junction, N.J.) scored her second goal of the season on s shot from the right side of the cage. Fellow sophomore midfielder
Debbie Wolfe (West Milford, N.J.) then scored the game-winner in the 46-th minute when she tipped in a shot from sophomore back
Taylor Dalisera (Millersville, Md.) for her team-leading 11th goal of the year.
Hodson finished the match with three saves to improve her record to 14-5 for the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Ainsley Parrish (Chester, Va.) totaled six saves for Swarthmore as her record fell to 1-4.
The Knights outshot the Garnet 10-4 in the second half and held a 14-7 edge for the match. Arcadia also held a narrow 12-11 advantage in penalty corners.
