Women’s Soccer Team Seeded Seventh in ECAC South Championship

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team has been selected for the ECAC Division III South Championship Tournament for the first time in program history, it was announced by the ECAC Monday. The seventh-seeded Knights will travel to second-seeded McDaniel College Wednesday for a 2 p.m. quarterfinal match. Ticket information will be announced when available.

TOURNAMENT FIELD: Top-seeded Stevenson University (13-8-1) will host eighth-seeded Alvernia University (11-7-2), with the winner of that game facing the winner of the match between fourth-seeded Grove City College (11-9-1) and fifth-seeded Juniata College (14-5-0). Lebanon Valley College (11-8-2) is seeded third and will host sixth-seeded Swarthmore College (9-5-2), with the winner facing the winner of the Arcadia (11-4-5)-McDaniel (13-5-1) match. Following Wednesday's quarterfinal round, all remaining matched will be hosted at the highest remaining seed.
 
CONFERENCE BREAKDOWN: The Commonwealth Conference led the way with four tournament selections (Alvernia, Arcadia, Lebanon Valley, Stevenson), followed by the Centennial Conference (McDaniel, Swarthmore), Landmark Conference (Juniata) and Presidents' Athletic Conference (Grove City).
 
ARCADIA VS. THE FIELD: Arcadia posted a record of 0-2-2 against teams selected for the ECAC South Championship this season. The Knights tied Alvernia (1-1) and Stevenson (0-0) before suffering back-to-back losses at Lebanon Valley, falling 2-1 in the regular season finale and then 2-0 in the Commonwealth tournament play-in game.
 
SCOUTING ARCADIA: The Knights are 11-4-5 this season and were seeded fifth in the Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament, where they fell at fourth-seeded Lebanon Valley 2-0 in the play-in game, marking the team's third straight loss. Arcadia joined the ECAC for the first time this year, and is making its first-ever ECAC tournament appearance. Junior forward/midfielder Kim Canfield leads the team in scoring with 14 goals and a team-best 11 assists for 39 points. She leads the conference in assists, ranks second in points and is tied for fifth in goals. Freshman forward/midfielder Lennon Kramer, the 2013 Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, is second on the team in scoring with a team-best 16 goals and four assists for 36 points. She ranks third in the league in goals and is fourth in the league in points. Senior forward Fatima Elmedkhar is third on the team in scoring with six goals and five assists for 17 points. Senior keeper Jackie Law is 9-4-5 in goal with five shutouts, a .076 goals against average and a .844 save percentage. She has 76 total saves on the season while allowing just 14 goals.
 
SCOUTING McDANIEL: The Green Terror are 13-5-1 this season and was seeded fourth in the Centennial Conference Championship Tournament, where McDaniel battled fifth-seeded Muhlenberg to a 0-0 draw before falling on penalty kicks,  4-3. Freshman forward Nicole Hill leads the team in scoring with nine goals and six assists for 24 points, while senior forward Julia Pope is a close second with eight goals and five assists for 21 points. Sophomore forward Maggie Quinn had seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Freshman keeper Haley Jacobs is 13-5-1 in goal with two shutouts, a 1.14 goals against average and a .819 save percentage.
