Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team used an 11-2 run to open a 17-point lead midway through the first half and never looked back on its way to a 94-72 victory over SUNY Old Westbury Friday night in the first game of the Ramapo College's Roadrunner Tip-Off. It was the season-opener for both teams.
The Knights will play for the tournament title Saturday at 3 p.m. against SUNYIT, which defeated host Ramapo 65-53 in the other first round game. The Panthers and Roadrunners will play in the consolation game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Junior forward
Victoria Roukas (Palisades Park, N.J.) scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field while pulling down a team-best nine rebounds to lead four Arcadia players scoring in double-figures, while sophomore guard
Mary Badeen (Newport, Maine) scored 18 points with eight boards, six assists and six steals in her first game as a Knight.

Samantha Caligiuri (West Grove, Pa.) netted 16 points with five assist and four steals, while fellow sophomore guard
Maureen Fiocca (Philadelphia, Pa.) added 12 points with three assists. Senior guard

Valerie DiMuro (Tappan. N.Y.) each scored nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 shooting from the line.
Senior DeAndra Scott (St. Albans, N.Y.) registered a double-double to lead Old Westbury, scored a team-best 17 points while grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Raven Pentz (Wallkill, N.Y.) scored 16 points while handing out four assists, while junior guard Clarrisa Gallagher (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 15 points with five rebounds and three assists.
The Knights opened the game with an 8-0 run over the first two minutes of the game on a three from Caligiuri and five straight points from Roukas, and led by as many as 22 in the half after Badeen drained a three to give Arcadia a commanding 52-30 lead with 2:39 left in the first half.
The Knights led 57-39 at the break before opening the second frame with a 9-3 burst that Roukas capped off by knocking down a jumper three minutes into the second half that grew Arcadia's advantage to 24, 66-42. The Knights largest lead of the game was 25 following a good jumper from Mazzeo made it 77-52 with 11;27 to go.
Arcadia shot an impressive 51.2 percent (21-41) from the field and 43.8 percent (7-16) in the first half and finished the game shooting 45.9 percent (34-74) from the field and 35.7 percent (10-28) from beyond the arc. The Panthers shot 39.7 percent (25-63) from the floor and 52.4 percent (11-21) from three.
Points off turnovers proved to be the most significant reason for the lopsided final score. The Knights turned 26 Old Westbury turnovers into 30 points, while the Panthers managed just 12 points off 17 Arcadia turnovers.
