Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team closed out the 2013 portion of its schedule with a 65-39 loss at Lebanon Valley College Wednesday afternoon in a Commonwealth Conference Contest. The Dutchmen improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play, while the Knights fell to 6-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Sophomore guard/forward Peyton Carper (Frederick, Md.) scored a game-high 15 points with six boards and three assists to lead LVC to the win. Senior forward Caitlin Bach (Manchester, Md.) registered a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to go with a game-high five blocked shots. Freshman forward Lexie Lantz (Lancaster, Pa.) also scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds.
Junior guard
Maureen Fiocca (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds for Arcadia, while sophomore guard (West Grove, Pa.) added eight points and had three steals. Sophomore forward
Valerie DiMuro (Tappan,. N.Y.) had seven points with three boards.
Lebanon Valley never trailed in the game, scoring the first five points of the contest. The Dutchmen used a seven-point spurt to take a 21-11 lead with nine minutes left in the first half and closed the period with an eight-point run to open a 37-22 lead at the break. They went on to outscore the Knights 28-17 in the second half for the 65-39 final.
Lebanon Valley shot 38 percent (26-68) from the field and was 3-of-13 from three, while Arcadia shot just 27 percent (13-48) from the field and was 2-for-10 from long distance.
The Knights will open the New Year hosting Lycoming College January 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium.
