BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's swimming team recorded a pair of victories in a double dual meet at Bryn Mawr College with Cabrini College, defeating the host Owls 104-92 and the Cavaliers 115-84 to even its record at 4-4 this season. Bryn Mawr (2-5) also defeated Cabrini (3-8), 107-92.
The team of juniors
Whitney Boeckel (York, Pa.) and
Jenna Neil (Harrisburg, Pa.), sophomore Rebecca Burkhart (Bethel Park, N.J.) and senior
Tara Nuzzo (Mahwah, N.J.) started the meet by winning the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:59.48. It was the first of six event wins for the Knights.
Nuzzo went on to win the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.63 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 55.88 seconds, while Boeckel won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:23.76 and the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:16.37. Freshman
Shannon Davies (Broomall, Pa.) won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:32.76 and was the runner-up in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:47.74.
Burkhart finished third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.40 seconds, while Neil was third in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:49.41. Freshman
Emma Tomasetti (Garnet Valley, Pa.) finished third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:41.96.
Freshman
Lillie Curtis (East Prospect, Pa.) placed third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.21 seconds and in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:12.17, while classmate
Anna Sweeney (Highland Lakes, N.J.) took fourth in in the 200 freestyle in 2:12.82 and placed third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:10.99.
Arcadia will next compete at Ocean County College Saturday at 11 a.m.
