Baseball Has Winning Streak Snapped by Widener

Box Score Cheltenham, PA (March 23, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (9-6-1, 2-1 MCOM) had their five game winning streak snapped this afternoon in a 5-1 loss to the Widener University Pride in the first game of the doubleheader. Widener jumped out to a 3-0 lead never looked back. Jack Nazarewycz took the loss, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing three runs on three hits.

Widener jumped out to a 3-0 lead, scoring three times in the first inning. The Knights got one back in the second as Jay Zehring hit an RBI single. Widener then added a fourth run in the fourth for a 4-1 lead. Widener added another in the seven and won by the four run margin.

Justin Simpson was 2-3 for the Knights.    

Widener and Arcadia will play the final game of their series later this afternoon.
