Baseball Drops First Two Games at Ripken Experience

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Myrtle Beach, SC (March 8, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (2-4-1) dropped their first two games at the Ripken Experience today to Mount Aloyisius. The Knights fell 6-5 in game one and 4-3 in game two. Brandon Martin went 3-4 in the first game, while David Jacobs went 2-3 in game two.

In game one, Jay Zehring hit an RBI single in the seventh to get the Knights to within 6-5, but they could not push across the tying run. Jonnah Van Bemmelen took the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and allowed one run on three hits. Martin had two RBI and a run scored, while Jerry Smith went 2-3 with three runs scored.

In the second game. Jacobs hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth to give Arcadia a 3-2 lead, but Mount Aloyisius scored a pair in the bottom of the inning and won 4-3. Marc Gottfried took the loss, pitching six innings and allowing four runs, three earned with a walk and five strikeouts.

Arcadia will get right on the field tomorrow for a twin bill with Grove City College.
