Baseball Wins Game Three from Messiah to Take Series

Box Score Grantham, PA (April 1, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (15-7-1, 7-2 MCOM) scored three in the sixth and four more in the ninth to come away with a 7-1 win over the Messiah College Falcons (5-13, 2-4) this afternoon. The Knights took two out of three in the series and have won three straight series to start conference play. Elliott Freeman went 2-5 with two runs scored and four RBI.

The first four innings went scoreless this afternoon. Messiah then put up a run in the fifth to take 1-0 lead. Arcadia then scored three in the sixth as Freeman hit a two run homer and David Jacobs knocked in a run after being hit by a pitch. The Knights extended their lead in the ninth with a four spot. Freeman hit a two-run double, while Jay Zehring and Brandon Martin each hit RBI singles for a 7-1 win.

Dave Behler pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on six hits. Jason Goldberg finished the game off with two perfect innings. Justin Simpson went 3-5 with a run scored.

Arcadia has won 13 of their last 16 games and will return to the diamond on Friday afternoon when they start a three-game series with Albright in Reading.
