Box Score Gwynedd Valley, PA (April 16, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (18-12-1) dropped a 5-2 non-conference decision to the Gwynedd-Mercy College Griffins (19-10) this afternoon. The Knights took a 2-0 lead in the first, but Gwynedd scored five unanswered the rest of the way to get the victory. Jay Zehring was 2-4 with an RBI for Arcadia.

The Knights scored two in the first as David Jacobs scored on a double-play. Zehring then doubled in Taylor Schon for a 2-0 lead. Arcadia held the two run advantage until the fourth when Gwynedd-Mercy put a run up to make it 2-1. The Griffins then scored three in the seventh to take a 4-2 lead. They added a fifth run in the eighth and held the Knights to just four hits over the final eight innings to get the victory.

Zehring was the only Knight to get more than one hit. Mike Nessel started today and allowed just one run over six innings.

Arcadia will return to action on Friday when they travel to face Lebanon Valley for the first game of a three-game series.
