Baseball Drops Final Game of Series to Albright

Box Score Cheltenham, PA (April 6, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (17-8-1, 9-3 MCOM) dropped the final game of their three game series with the Albright College Lions this afternoon, 13-9. Albright jumped out to a 6-0 lead and could never recover. George Pagan, Jerry Smith and Jay Zehring each had two hits for the Knights.

Albright struck first scoring one in the first and four in the second for a 5-0 lead. Arcadia got three back in the bottom of the second as Brandon Martin hit an RBI single, George Pagan hit an RBI double and later scored an unearned run to make the score 5-3. The Lions then scored three in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth to take a 12-4 advantage.

The Knights scored three times in the fifth as Smith hit an RBI double, Zehring hit an RBI single and Taylor Schon hit an RBI groundout to cut the deficit to 13-7. Albright made it 13-7 with a run in the sixth. Rudy Checo had an RBI single in the sixth to make it 13-8 and Justin Simpson walked with the bases load in the seventh to make the final 13-9.

Mike Nessel scored a pair of runs for Arcadia. Dave Behler took the loss for Arcadia.

The Knights return to action on Tuesday when they travel to face Wesley College for a 3:30pm first pitch.
