Baseball Drops Non-Conference Tilt at Wesley

Box Score Dover, DE (April 9, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (17-9-1) dropped a non-conference game at Wesley College this afternoon 10-4. Arcadia had a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the third, but Wesley scored nine unanswered runs the rest of the way to get the victory. David Jacobs went 2-5 with a pair of runs scored.

Jacobs scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch in the first inning. Wesley tied the game in the bottom of the first. Then in the third the Knights scored three times as Elliott Freeman walked to drive in a run, Nessel drove in a run on a fielder's choice and Justin Simpson scored when Jay Zehring was hit by a pitch. Wesley then scored six in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 10-4 lead. The remainder of the game went scoreless.

Taylor Schon and Justin Simpson also had two hits for the Knights, Jason Goldberg took the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing seven earned runs on five hits.

Arcadia will get bak in MAC Commonwealth play on Friday when they travel to face Stevenson.
