Women’s Soccer Ties Eastern 1-1 at Haverford Kickoff Classic

Box Score HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team surrendered a goal with just under three minutes to go in regulation as it tied Eastern University 1-1 Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Haverford Kickoff Classic. The Knights record now stands at 0-0-2 in 2013, while the Eagles moved to 0-1-1 for the season.

Freshman forward Lennon Kramer (Nazareth, Pa.) gave Arcadia a 1-0 lead in the 26th-minute on a give-and-go play with senior forward Fatima Elmedkhar (Middletown, Del.), and the was how the score stayed until sophomore forward Victoria Graham (Manchester, Md.) put home a rebound off a shot from freshman forward Emily Cole (Winfield, Pa.) with just 2:38 remaining in regulation to tie the score at 1-1. That proved to be the final tally of the game as neither team was able to break the deadlock in overtime.

Senior keeper Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, N.J.) recorded five saves in goal for the Knights while her record moved to 0-0-2, while sophomore keeper Elayna Simpson (Dover, Del.) registered 10 stops in goal for Eastern to improve her record to 0-1-1.

The Knights will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Neumann University for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest.
