Offensive Explosion Gives Men’s Soccer Team 6-0 Victory over Immaculata

Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team erupted for a season-high six goals as while posting its third shutout of the season in a 6-0 non-conference victory over visiting Immaculata University Wednesday afternoon at Easton Field.
 
The Knights improved to 2-2-1 for the season with the win, while the Mighty Macs fell to 0-4-0. Immaculata entered the game with a series of one-goal losses to Alvernia University (2-1), Albright College (1-0 ) and Moravian College (2-1). Alvernia eliminated Arcadia from the MAC Commonwealth tournament last year.  
 
Senior forward Dean Search (Cream Ridge, N.J.) opened the scoring just 55 seconds into the match and junior forward John Pacana (Pitman, N.J.) made it a 2-0 game 2:59 in, both of which were set up by freshman midfielder Daniel Herrera (Clifton, N.J.). Sophomore back Ryan Thorsen (Bethel Park, Pa.) added an unassisted goal in the 18th-minute to give the Knights a 3-0 lead at the half.
 
Junior midfielder Alex Wells (Hockessia, Del.) and senior midfielder David Jacobs (Havre de Grace, Md.) both found the back in a span of 56 seconds in the opening three minutes of the second half and junior back Dylan Lesher (Muncey, Pa.) capped the scoring in the 77th-minute for the 6-0 final.
 
Arcadia outshot Immaculata 10-0 in the first half and 11-4 in the second. Senior keeper Ryan Lantzy (Phoenixville, Pa.) improved to 2-2-1 without needing to make a single save in 66:44, while sophomore keeper Aaron Bell (Yardley, Pa.) had two stops in the final 23:16.
 
The Knight will next travel to Misericordia University Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference match.
