Box Score DALLAS, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team allowed a goal in the closing minutes of the second half as it fell 1-0 at Misericordia University Saturday night in a non-conference contest. The Cougars improved to 4-1-0 for the season while the Knights fell to 2-3-1.
The lone goal of the game was scored by Misericordia freshman midfielder Chris Edkins (Hunlock Creek, Pa.) with 5:05 remaining in second frame off a cross from junior forward/midfielder Nick vonEgypt (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.).
Sophomore keeper Barry Fitzgerald (Marlton, N.J.) recorded five saves to earn the decision in goal and improve his record to _. Senior keeper
Ryan Lantzy (Phoenixville, Pa.) had six stops in taking the loss for the Arcadia, dropping his record to 2-3-1.
While the shots favored Misericordia by a 22-11 margin the game truly was a defensive struggle with both teams having just a handful of quality scoring chances.
The Knights will continue their three-game road trip Wednesday when they travel to Rowan University for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
