Wolfe’s Two Goals Lift Field Hockey Past Immaculata, 3-1

Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. – Sophomore midfielder Debbie Wolfe (West Milford, N.J.) scored two goals in the first half as the Arcadia University field hockey team recorded a 3-1 non-conference victory at Immaculata University Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Knights, who saw their shutout streak end at 279:41, improved to 5-1 for the season with their fourth straight win, while the Mighty Macs fell to 2-4.
 
Wolfe put Arcadia on the board 12 minutes into the match when she banged home a rebound off a corner, and then extended the lead to 2-0 in the 23rd-minute when she scored on a scramble in front of the cage. Junior midfielder Molly Goldstein (Oak Ridge, N.J.) assisted on both plays, and later scored from the top of the circle to give the Knights a commanding 3-0 advantage just 3:23 into the second half.
 
Arcadia was just 6:21 away from its fourth consecutive shutout when junior forward Natalie Rivera (Boyertown, Pa.) scored off a crossing pass from junior midfielder Ashley O'Donnell (Collingdale, Pa.) for the 3-1 final.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Brittany Hodson (Highesville, Md.) registered three saves in the game as she improved her record to 5-1 for the season for the Knights. Fellow freshman goalkeeper Sarah Pasternack (Fairfield, N.J.) gave up two goals with three saves in the first half in taking the loss for Immaculata, dropping her record to 1-3.
 
Arcadia outshot the Mighty Macs 14-6 in the game thanks to a 9-1 advantage in the first half. The Knights also held a 9-6 lead in penalty corners.
 
Arcadia will next travel to the University of Scranton Saturday for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
