Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – A total of eight players found that back of the net for the Arcadia University women's soccer team in a 9-0 non-conference win over Immaculata University Thursday night at Easton Field. The Knights, who are ranked 10th in this week's NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Ranking, improved to 5-0-2 with the win, while the Mighty Macs fell to 1-6-0 with the loss.
Sophomore midfielder
Nicole Lobaton (Parsippany, N.J.) scored the only goal Arcadia would need in the 23rd-minute when she put home a crossing pass from the left of the box from senior forward
Fatima Elmedkhar (Middletown, Del.). Sophomore back
Alex Stoner (Elkton, Md.) made it a 2-0 game in the 31st minute when she put in a rebound off a shot from junior forward
Kim Canfield (Hillsborough, N.J.), who added a goal of her own two and a half minutes later when she ripped a shot from 25 yards out into the upper right corner.
The flood gates opened midway through the second half as the Knights scored four times in a span of 6:20 to take a 7-0 lead in the 73rd minute before taking on two more in the final three minutes for the 9-0 final.
Junior midfielder
Nina Barbieri (Hillsborough, N.J.) scored two of those goals, while Elmedkhar, sophomore back
Jenna Mirabelli (Lumberton, N.J.) and freshmen forwards
Lennon Kramer (Nazareth, Pa.) and
Karis Poore (Reading, Pa.) added one goal each.
Junior keeper
Veronica Willig (Lancaster, Pa.) earned the decision in goal to improve to 2-0-0 for the season and combined with senior keeper
Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, N.J.) for the shutout. Neither player faced a single shot while playing one half each.
Junior keeper Meghan McCurnin (Newark, Del.) took the loss after allowing three goals while making seven first half saves. Sophomore keeper Elizabeth McBride (Philadelphia, Pa.) allowed six goals while making 12 saves in the second half.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it starts a four-game road trip at Wilkes University.
