Joseph Bertucci (Giblosboro, N.J.) scored with just four second remaining in the first overtime period to give the Arcadia University men's soccer team a 1-0 victory at King's College (Pa.) Saturday.
The Knights improved to 3-4-1 with the win and snapped a two-game slide in the process. The Monarchs fell to 3-2-2 with the loss.
Neither team was able to generate a lot scoring opportunities as two squads combined for 15 shots in the game, which appeared to be heading for a second overtime period before Bertucci turned and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper and into the net. It was his first goal of the season.
Senior keeper
Ryan Lantzy (Phoenixville, Pa.) needed to make just two saves to record his second shutout of the season and improve his record to 3-4-1 for the year. Freshman keeper Karl Jamiolkowski (Nanuet, N.Y.) had one save in taking the loss, dropping his record to 1-1-1.
King's outshot Arcadia 8-7 in the match and had a 6-3 lead in corner kicks.
Arcadia will return to action Wednesday when it hosts a non-conference contest against Haverford College at 7 p.m. at Easton Field.
