Men’s Soccer Shutout by Haverford, 2-0

Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference contest to visiting Haverford College Wednesday night at Easton Field. The Fords are ranked fifth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings.

Haverford improved to 6-1-0 with the win, while the Knights fell to 3-5-1 with their third loss in four games.

The match was played fairly even to start before the Fords broke through in the 35th-minute when freshman midfielder Will Corkery (Needham, Mass.) fired a hard liner inside the right post and just beyond the reach of Arcadia senior keeper Ryan Lantzy (Phoenixville, Pa.). Haverford took over the game in the second half and was able to add an insurance goal at 62 minutes even on sophomore forward Sam Yarosh's (West Chester, Pa.) shot into the upper left corner.

Lantzy was outstanding in net for the Knights as he totaled nine saves to keep Arcadia in the match. Senior goalkeeper Nick Kahn (Dunwoody, Ga.) recorded three stops to record the shutout win in net for Haverford.

The Fords outshot the Knights 31-5 in the match after owning a 20-2 advantage in the second half, but shots on goal were much closer at 12-3. Haverford had a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Knights will look to bounce back Saturday when they host a non-conference match against Keystone College at 1 p.m. at Easton Field.
