WAYNE, N.J. – The Arcadia University field hockey team closed out the 2014 regular season with a 2-1 overtime setback at William Paterson University Saturday in a non-conference match. The Pioneers improved to 7-11 with the win, while the Knights fell to 13-6.

Debbie Wolfe fed a pass to Longenecker on the left wing and she lifted the ball into the upper right corner 5:05 into the contest.
The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Knights until freshman forward Carly Satter tied the match with 7:37 remaining in regulation, carrying the ball across the circle and firing it into the back of the cage. She then scored the game-winner on a scramble in front of the cage 4:19 into the extra frame.
Junior goalkeeper Meg Davies recorded eight saves to earn the win in goal for William Paterson. Her record improved to 7-11 with the win.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Brittany Hodson took the loss for Arcadia after allowing the overtime goal while making two saves in 39:19, dropping her record to 7-3. Fellow sophomore goalkeeper
Mia De Plato also allowed one goal and had two saves in 35 minutes of action.
The Knights outshot the Pioneers 13-5 in regulation, but were outshot 4-1 in overtime. William Paterson held a 9-8 edge in corners.
Arcadia will return to action Wednesday when the top-seeded Knights host a Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament semifinal match against fourth-seeded Messiah College at 7 p.m. at Easton Field.
