Complete ResultsGLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's swim team improved to 2-1 on the year after defeating visiting Middle Atlantic Conference foe FDU-Florham, 116-59, Saturday afternoon at Lenox Pool. The Devils fell to 0-5 with the loss.
Sophomore
Melissa Malik posted top times in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke with respective times of 59.25 and 1:19.43. She was also part of the 400 freestyle relay team; along with senior
Whitney Boeckel, sophomores
Lillie Curtis and
Anna Sweeney; that touched in first with a time of 4:03.50.
Curtis and classmate
Taylor Hastings rounded out the top three in the 100 freestyle after finishing in respective times of 1:00.46 and 1:13.43.
The 400 medley relay team of Boeckel, freshman
Danielle Fundakowski, senior
Becca Burkhart and Curtis swam unopposed and finished with a time of 4:26.37. Burkhart placed second individually in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly after touching in at respective times of 27.61 and 1:07.12.
Fundakowski also claimed the top spot in the 500 freestyle after finishing with a time of 5:56.62. She was followed by fellow teammates Sweeney and sophomore
Carly Evans, who placed second and third in the event with respective times of 6:07.07 and 7:10.25.
The Knights posted the top three times in the 200 freestyle as well, after Sweeney and freshmen
Rose Georgias and
Lucy Reilly finished in times of 2:12.21, 2:15.12 and 2:16.15, respectively.
Georgias and Reilly also finished first and second in the 100 backstroke after Georgias touched in at 1:08.45 and Reilly finished in 1:09.92.Arcadia swept the top three spots for the 200 individual medley after Boeckel, Fundakowski, and sophomore
Emma Tomasetti finished in respective times of 2:23.79, 2:30.28 and 2:46.21. Tomasetti also placed first in the 1000 freestyle after touching in at 12:52.05.
The Knights will be back in the pool on Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th, when they travel to New York, New York for the New York University Invitational.
