Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team dropped a 70-56 Commonwealth Conference contest at Lycoming College Saturday afternoon, dropping their record to 10-13 overall and 4-12 in conference play. The Warriors evened their record at 11-11 overall and 8-8 in conference play.
Lycoming never trailed in the game and scored six straight to close out the first half and take a 33-21 lead at the break.
The Knights pulled back within six after
Maureen Fiocca's (Philadelphia, Pa.) three made it 50-44 with 8:27 left in the second half, but Lycoming immediately went on a 9-3 burst to open a 12-point advantage and led by double-digits the rest of the way.
Sophomore guard
Samantha Caligiuri (West Grove, Pa.) scored a game-high 19 points to lead Arcadia, while sophomore forward
Valerie DiMuro (Tappan, N.Y.) posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards. Senior guard/forward
Victoria Mazzeo (Langhorne, Pa.) chipped in with five points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
Junior forward Ali Derr (New Columbia, Pa.) scored 13 points with seven rebounds for the Warriors, while sophomore guard/forward Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y.) posted a double-double of her own with 10 points and 10 boards. Sophomore guard Olivia Manges (York, Pa.) also netted 10 points.
Lycoming shot 50 percent (27-54) from the field while going 3-for-10 from the field and 13-of-18 from the line, and outscored the Knights 36-26 in the paint. Arcadia shot just 37 percent (21-57) from the field while going 2-for-13 from three and 12-for-25 at the line.
The Knights will return to action Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. Commonwealth Conference contest against Lebanon Valley College.
