Second half surge propels field hockey past Swarthmore, 2-0

Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team scored twice in a span of eight minutes to record a 2-0 non-conference victory at Swarthmore College, evening its record at 1-1 for the season. It was the first match of the season for the Garnet.
 
The game was scoreless until the 57th-minute when senior back Katrina Dull scored her second goal in as many games after depositing a pass from junior Taylor Dalisera that came from the top of the arc. Freshman forward Amanda Hess followed by scoring the first goal of her collegiate career off a scrum in front of the cage with 5:32 left in the game.
 
Sophomore keeper Mia De Plato needed to make just two saves to earn the shutout victory in goal for the Knights. Junior keeper Ainsley Parrish tallied 13 saves in taking the loss for Swarthmore.
 
The match was not as close and the score may indicate. Arcadia dominated from the start, outshooting the Garnet 23-6 in the game. The Knights also held a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners.
 
Arcadia will be back in action Wednesday when it hosts a 4 p.m. non-conference match against Delaware Valley College at 4 p.m. at Easton Field.
