RADNOR, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team recorded a 1-0 victory at Cabrini College Saturday afternoon. The Knights improved to 5-1-0 with their fifth straight victory, while the Cavaliers fell to 1-4-0.
The game was tied through the first half, with Arcadia outshooting Cabrini 6-4. Senior goalkeeper
Veronica Willig recorded two saves, while Cavalier freshman goalkeeper Alivia Dietsch recorded three.
The game remained tied until the 69th-minute when senior forward
Kim Canfield ripped a shot from the top of the box to left side of the net off a lead pass from junior forward
Jackie Glanfield for her first goal of the season. Cabrini finished the game recording seven shots following the goal, but Willig was up to the task, recording two additional saves over the final 31 minutes.
Willig improved to 5-1-0 on the season while recording her second shutout of the year. Dietsch fell to 1-4-0 after recording four saves on five shots on goal.
The Knights return home Tuesday night to take on Penn State-Abington in a 7 p.m. game at Easton Field.
