Men’s basketball drops 74-58 decision at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team shot just 32 percent (19-59) from the field and 30 percent (6-20) from three as it dropped a 74-58 Commonwealth Conference contest at Stevenson University Saturday. The Knights fell to 10-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
 
The Mustangs shot an impressive 56 percent (28-50) from the floor as they recorded their fifth straight win, improving their record to 14-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
 
Junior forward Erik Fisher scored a game-high 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor while pulling down 10 rebounds to lead Stevenson to the win. Junior guard Christian Roberts added 14 points with four assists, three rebounds and three steals, while senior forward Justin Kuntz chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists coming off the bench.
 
Senior forward Joe Brown scored 18 points on 8-of-14 from the floor while pulling down nine rebounds for the Arcadia. Sophomore guard Ryan Kelley also scored in double figures with 12 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists.
 
Brown got off to a fast start, scoring the Knights' first 11 points of the game as Arcadia staked itself to an early 11-5 lead. Stevenson responded with a 22-7 surge to take the lead for good before going up 32-24 at the break. An 11-3 run by the Mustangs gave them a 57-40 lead midway through the second half before going up by as many as 19 in the closing minutes of the game.
 
Arcadia will look to get back on track Wednesday when it hosts an 8 p.m. Commonwealth Conference contest against Lebanon Valley College at Alumni Gymnasium.
