McKim's Pair of Goals Lead Knights to MAC Commonwealth Opening Win

Defeat Stevenson 2-0

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia men's soccer team opened MAC Commonwealth play Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 victory over rival Stevenson. Bradley McKim scored a pair of second half goals, opening the scoring in the 47th minute and sealing it in the 89th.

After 45 minutes of scoreless soccer, McKim broke the tie 1:06 into the second half when he put a shot from the right side of the six yard box into the left corner of the net off an assist from David Colombo

In what became a very physical contest, the Knights were able to protect their lead. McKim scored the insurance goal with just 1:04 on the clock. The goal was set up by a foul called on Stevenson for passing the ball to the keeper on a throw in. Brian Martinez lined up to take the ensue free kick inside the box when he tapped the ball to McKim who fired a hard shot into the right side of the net.

The Knights controlled the total shot battle at 15-9, though the teams saw four shots reach goal each.

Chris Watson made four saves to pick up his seventh win of the season.

Arcadia travels to Alvernia on Tuesday before returning home next Saturday to host Lycoming.
