Women's Soccer Completes Three-Peat in ECAC South Championship with 2-0 Win Over Lebanon Valley

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The top-seeded Arcadia University women's soccer claimed its third consecutive Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Championship Sunday evening with a 2-0 win over second-seeded Lebanon Valley. Senior defender Melia Ochsner was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

The Knights are the third team to complete a three-peat in the ECAC Division III women's soccer championships, and the first since Swarthmore won three straight from 2007-09. Arcadia won its first ECAC title in any sport in when the women's soccer team claimed the 2013 ECAC South crown on penalty kicks at Stevenson, and then repeated as champion with a 2-1 overtime win over McDaniel a year ago.

It took less than eight minutes for Arcadia to claim its 2-0 lead. Sophomore Jess Kelly notched the game's first goal, her ninth of the season, on the game's first shot. Lebanon Valley goalkeeper Taylor Reinhold came to the top of the box to play a ball trickling towards her, Kelly kept pressure on and deflected Reinhold's clear attempt into the back of the net. Fellow sophomore Kayla Haberbosch recorded her team-leading 10th goal of the season in the eighth minute after she collected a short goal kick and placing the ball into the left side of the net from the top of the box.

The Scarlet and Grey controlled play for the majority of the game, as they outshot their MAC Commonwealth rival 14-5 including a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. First-Team All-MAC Commonwealth selection Jackie Glanfield nearly gave the Knights insurance in the 66th minute with a shot the bounced off the underside of the crossbar.

Rookie goalkeeper Evelyn Feigeles earned her 10th shutout of the season, tying her for second on the Knights' single season list after making four saves on the day. Feigeles picked up her 16th win of the year, a number that places her second in the program's single-season list.

Reinhold made multiple great saves, registering four saves on the day, she concludes the season with a 10-7 record.

The Knights finish their 12th straight winning season with a 16-6 record.
