Box Score OWINGS MILL, Md. – The No. 6/16 Arcadia University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon with a 3-2 setback at Stevenson. The Knights are now 14-1 on the season and 4-1 in MAC Commonwealth play; the Mustangs sit a 6-4-2 on the season with a 3-0-1 conference record.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The hosts took a 2-0 lead into halftime courtesy of goals from Juliana Portera and Jordan Porretto. The Knights retaliated early in the second half however, as junior
Kayla Haberbosch found the back of the net in the 57th minute. Stevenson extended its lead back to two on a Brianna Christie goal in the 61st minute, before junior
Tara Smith pulled the Knights back within one midway through the second half.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia held a 14-11 advantage in shots in the contest; however the Mustangs put six on frame compared to the Knights' four. Stevenson took three corners, while Arcadia took two.
STREAK SNAPPED: The loss brings the Knights' program-record 16-game winning streak to a close. The streak dated back to last season's ECAC Championship run and included 14 straight wins to open the 2016 campaign. Prior to today, the Knights had not trailed in a game since Sept. 7's 2-1 win over Ursinus, and had not lost since a 1-0 loss to Messiah in last season's MAC Commonwealth Championship Game.
IN GOAL: Sophomore
Evelyn Feigeles made a pair of saves as she fell to 2-1 for the season. Stevenson's Tiffany McKee improved to 6-4-2 while also denying two shots.
