GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team wrapped up its regular season Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 setback to No. 2/9 Messiah on Easton Field. The Knights enter postseason play with a 9-6-3 record that includes a 3-3-2 conference mark, Messiah finished the regular season at 15-0-3, including an 8-0 conference mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED: A 19th minute goal from Kirby Robbins gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead that would stand through halftime. Robbins struck again in the 60th minute before Will Cochran finished the scoring in the 75th minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The visitors held a 22-4 shot advantage, including 11-1 in shots on goal, while also taking six corners to Arcadia's two.
IN GOAL: Junior
Chris Watson made eight saves in 90 minutes of work as he fell to 9-6-3 on the season. Connor Bell picked up the win by making one save.
SENIOR DAY: Prior to the contest, the Knights recognized its two seniors,
Ricardo Margolles and
Brian Martinez, for their contributions to the program over the last four years.
PLAYOFF PICTURE: The Knights shift their attention to next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament where they will be seeded fifth. Tournament play opens Tuesday night at fourth-seeded Hood in the First Round contest. Game time is to be determined.
