Box Score ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 4-0 loss at Eastern University Wednesday. The Eagles improved to 4-6 with the win, while the Knights fell to 3-9 with the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The match was scoreless until the 32nd-minute when Alison Hoag scored what proved to be the game-winner. Becky Howard scored two minutes to give Eastern a 2-0 lead at the half, and added her second goal of the match 2:23 after the break. Ali Balmer capped the scoring in the 49th-minute.
IN GOAL: Nicole Berger totaled three saves to record the shutout victory in goal for the Eagles. Freshman
Anne Becker totaled nine saves in taking the first loss of her collegiate career, making her record 3-1 this season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Eastern outshot Arcadia 17-5 in the match, and held a 17-6 advantage in penalty corners.
