Bradley McKim Named Third-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American®, First in Program History

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Arcadia University men's soccer junior forward Bradley McKim has been named to the College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Third-Team Academic All-America®, as announced by the organization Friday. McKim was on the national ballot following his second straight Academic All-District® selection.

"I was shocked," McKim said of the honor. "I remember when I got named Academic All-District, I was just waiting for Academic All-America and getting that would be awesome."

The program's first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District® honoree, McKim is the first CoSIDA Academic All-America® selection in men's soccer's history. He is just the third student-athlete in Arcadia history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-America® selection; Kim Canfield (women's soccer) was the first in 2014 and Jessica Shotwell (softball) was named to the team in 2015.

"It's huge, it's exciting, you hear coach and guys that have graduated talk about some of the guys who've come through the program and how good they were and how well they did academically, to be the first one is awesome."

An accounting major with a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average, McKim set the tone for Arcadia offensively, leading the team in goals (11), assists (5) and points (27).  Each of those totals ranked him fifth in the MAC Commonwealth.

In addition to his CoSIDA academic recognition, McKim was named to the 2015 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area and the MAC Academic All-Conference Team after last season, the 2016 teams have yet to be announced. His athletic accomplishments include being named a three-time All-MAC Commonwealth selection, including two First-Team selections (2015-16), along with being named National Soccer Coaches Association of America Third-Team All-Region selection last season and an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference Second-Team All-Star selection in 2015.

"Guys like Brad are the standard of what you want in your program. It means the world and it sets the standard for what we want our guys achieving on the field and in the classroom" said head men's soccer coach Rob Nydick. "Brad is a person that owns it. He owns his personal development off the field, he owns it in the classroom and he owns it with how he treats his peers. I'm proud of him as a person, he should feel so excited and honored; I'm excited and honored to brag about him in our program. He's been a great addition and a class act."

McKim led the Knights to a 9-8-4 record and their third consecutive MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament berth. The Knights also made their second straight ECAC Championship Tournament appearance.
