GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team dropped a 74-58 decision to Widener Tuesday night in Alumni Gymnasium. Seniors
John Landro and
Alex Cohen led the way on their senior night as Landro dropped a game-high 20 points with Cohen adding 15. The loss drops the Knights to 15-9 on the season and 8-7 in conference play, Widener moves to 13-11 on the season and 8-7 in the MAC Commonwealth.
The Scarlet and Grey were unable to get anything going on either end of the floor as they shot just 28.8% from the field and 15.4% from beyond the arc. The Pride shot 54.9% from the field and 40.9% from three as Laron Byrd and Sardayah Sambo led the way with 15 points each.
Widener took the lead for good when Kendall Green's jumper gave it a 13-12 advantage with 11:15 to go in the first half. The Pride went on to open a lead of as many as 22.
The Knights are currently in a four-way tie for third place in the MAC Commonwealth entering the final day of games on Saturday, when Arcadia travels to Messiah for a 5 p.m. tip.
